The NEXTGEN EMERGING TALENT and ASIAN BUDDING DESIGNER category is specially created under Asian Designer Foundation Program to promote young fashion and design labels and offer maximum industry exposure and opportunities to them.

The NewGen Asian Designers are business and networking centric platforms for established labels to help them strengthen their brand value across the globe.

NEXTGEN EMERGING TALENT: This category is specifically for students designers or who have recently launched their labels in 2019.

ASIAN BUDDING DESIGNERS: Fashion designers who have been in the business for not more than 3 years or still striving to stabilize their labels/brands would come under the ASIAN BUDDING DESIGNER category.

NEWGEN ASIAN DESIGNERS: This category is for the designers who are quite established and have been in the industry for more than 5 years now.

The process for this selection for participation at the ADW has been instituted by the ADFC to ensure the highest standard of Indian Fashion to be showcased at the right platform. This selection ensures that the best competitive talent is showcased at this fashion trade event. Please find below a list of guidelines that you will have to adhere to in respect of the jury selection for the first time showcase at the forthcoming ADW (SS’20).

GUIDELINES OF JURY SELECTION

1. REGISTER: You are required to register with us and submit your professional details online or email us at hello@asiandesignerweek.com. 

2. Lookbook/Design - Upload your lookbook or send us ensembles (picture) of your S/S'20 latest or S/S'19 previous collection (picture of garment worn by a Model).

Pictures should be the best representation of your design work.

Please note that the ensembles pictures should be part of your SS’19 or '20 collection.

Kindly provide costing for atleast one garment. The purpose is to understand the marketability of your merchandise.

Selection will be on merit of design originality, styling, use of sustainable fashion.

ADW SS'20 APPLICATION DEADLINE for the DESIGNER PARTICIPATION:

The last date to register and send LOOK BOOK / DESIGN for ADW SS'20 is 20 MARCH, 2020

SELECTION PROCESS:

1. LOOK BOOK SUBMISSION

All applicants who wish to apply for ADW SS'20 must fill the online registration form at www.asiandesignerweek.com or email us their Portfolio/Look Book at hello@asiandesignerweek.com

Please do not submit your garment samples unless requested to do so.

2. SCREENING LOOKBOOK > PERSONAL INTERVIEW > FINAL SELECTION
Once an applicant has completed the Application form and submitted the required portfolio, this will be reviewed and the selected ones will be notified by email/phone.
Once the designer has been selected they may be called for Personal Interview (if required).

Applicant has to deposit 50% of the fee within 5 days of the date he/she is  informed of selection. Falling to adhere to it will terminate the selection and the seat will be offered to the waiting applicant.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PICTURES

Pictures of samples should be taken on professional quality female models or on suitable mannequins.

The location, setting, and background for pictures should be planned according to the theme of the collection.

Pictures of the samples on a model or mannequin should be styled appropriately and should indicate the right placement of an accessory used.

In-case collection carries separates like trousers, tops or jackets, or any accessories like jewelry, bags, footwear, etc., the pictures should clearly indicate the complete look.

Designers should provide high-quality sketches and photographs in PDF/PNG/JPEG format. All files should be zipped in a folder and then upload in a single zip or RAR file. The file should not exceed more than 10MB.

Originality of Concept & Innovation in Design: How creative and unique is the theme / concept / elements of the proposed collection for ADW and the design philosophy of the label?

Craftsmanship:  What is the level of quality of the tailoring, detailing and finishing of the samples submitted.

Design Aesthetics: Balance of colors, patterns, prints or embroideries used in the proposed collection.

Clarity of Vision: What is the level of clarity behind the design philosophy of the label, theme of the proposed collection and execution through the samples submitted.
